Anything over 10 cents a word is a big win for me, and I have over four years of experience. I usually just roll my eyes and scroll past the people who say $1 or more per word. I've had a few bylined articles work out at around 40 cents a word, but those are much rarer for me. It's the lower paid work that is more consistent and pays the bills.
